The future of Lord’s

Despite the 2017 cricket season having drawn to a close, it has been a busy couple of weeks at the Home of Cricket.

MCC Members vote in favour of Club’s Masterplan

MCC Members have recently voted to proceed with the Club’s Updated Masterplan for the redevelopment of Lord’s – a £194m programme of works that will be completed in 2032. The entire development will be funded from the Club’s own resources and the decision by Members closes the door on the long-running debate of possible residential development at the ground.

Detailed design work will begin immediately on a replacement for the Compton and Edrich Stands, with the project set to become the largest single development ever seen at the 203-year-old ground.

In other news, England’s fixtures for the 2018 season have now been announced and it has been confirmed that Lord’s will host two Test Matches and a One-Day International.
