Jonathan Trott attended a BBQ with Prince Harry back in July, for the mental health campaign Heads Together and here at Fours n Sixes we thought you might be interested in a special film that was done about the visit.
Jonathan was accompanied Mark Saxby from the ECB who has been of huge support to Jonathan has he dealt with some challenging times.
At the BBQ, attended by a host of other sports stars, Jonathan spoke to Prince Harry about the difficult times he’s gone through.
As most of you are aware, Jonathan is a South African-born former England Test cricketer. Citing stress and anxiety, Trott left England’s Ashes tour of Australia in November 2013, with the intention of taking a break from all forms of cricket. A comeback attempt in April 2014 was shelved due to a recurrence of the condition. Trott returned to the England team for the 2015 West Indies Test series, but after struggling in the series, he retired from international cricket in 2015. Jonathan was joined by Mark Saxby, a massage therapist on the England Cricket Physiotherapy Team, who supported Jonathan during these difficult times.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry are spearheading the Heads Together campaign to build on the great work that is already taking place across the country, to ensure that people feel comfortable with their everyday mental wellbeing, feel able to support their friends and families through difficult times, and that fear no longer prevents people talking or getting the help they need.
Heads Together brings together a team of charity partners that have achieved great progress in tackling stigma, raising awareness, and providing vital help for people with mental health problems. The team covers a wide range of mental health issues that are close to The Duke and Duchess and Prince Harry’s passions.
